What is sIFR?
sIFR is meant to replace short passages of plain browser text with text rendered in your typeface of choice, regardless of whether or not your users have that font installed on their systems. It accomplishes this by using a combination of javascript, CSS, and Flash.

Pretty cool since this make the text Search Engine Friendly:

“The knee-jerk reaction of some people whenever they see Flash is that it must be inaccessible because it’s Flash. What we’ve done with sIFR, however, is turn that model completely on its head. Your (X)HTML document is still the exact same document it was before sIFR kicked in. Your code is untouched and sIFR is completely abstracted to the javascript layer; therefore, your accessibility, your search engine friendliness, and your semantics are the same as they were before the day you decided you like nice fonts.”

Fairway technologies realizes that with smart people and the right approach, expert software technology contracting and consulting services can be optimized for both clients and employees. In 2002, they recruited their top colleagues from San Diego’s IT community.

Their clients include biotech companies (e.g. Kalypsys and Synteract), finance companies (e.g. LPL Financial Services and Bill Me Later), real estate companies (e.g. Red Mountain Retail Group and McKenna & Co), and many other industries as well. They also work closely with partners (e.g. MindTouch) and their Deki Wiki clients (e.g. Autodesk).

Part of Fairway Technologies philosophy is to maintain friendly working relationships with their clients.

“We love it when our local clients (e.g. LPL Financial Services, Credco, Synteract, TotalTech, HP, St. Bernard, Vistage) and partners (e.g. MindTouch, ImagineOne) join us at our office and events.”

They are also experienced remote workers and have accommodated clients from Portland (e.g. Autodesk) to Baltimore (e.g. Bill Me Later) and all throughout California (e.g. Bill Me Later, Colorep, Red Mountain Retail Group, McKenna & Co).

For more information on Fairway visit their site: fairwaytech.com

Twitter has taken a little getting used to for me. It hasn’t become second nature to me like is for so many of my collegees and though I find myself pretty interested in the people I’m following, joining the conversation seems awkward or impersonal. Maybe that’s what facebook is for.

Getting involved in Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn… What are some other good ones?
